|
TERM 2 NEWS Year 5 Anafon went to plant trees this term to help the environment. The trees that we planted were weeping willows and many others. In class this term we have been studying and comparing Lesotho to Wales. We learnt that the capital 1of Lesotho is Maseru, population of Lesotho in 2007 was 2,125,262, and it is a landlocked country and is much poorer than Wales. We found out differences by looking at pictures of Lesotho and Wales. Some people went to a gym competition in Caernarfon Anfon Centre. There were ten or more schools there. First we did the vault, then the tumbles. We were allowed to practise on mats. Everyone enjoyed there selves. Mrs Rees took two netball teems to a competition in Ysgol Ryder. The teams were called the A and B teams. They played against five schools each. They played against Mr Taylor’s old school. The A team came 1st so they will be playing the other school from another competition. In History we have been studying Anne Frank. We learnt where she lived, what happened to her, how old he was, how she died and where she died. We have started doing Helpwr Heddiw in our class. It helps us with our Welsh language. It is when 1 person does the register and asks questions in the morning. They also do it in the afternoon. TERM 1 NEWS We went on a rugby tournament in John Bright school. We had a squad of thirteen player from Year five and six. We had quite a few rules to follow. At the end we were all shattered and we needed out beds. On another day ’Key Strings’ came and showed us lots of instruments which are in the ’strings’ section of the orchestra. They were very funny and they taught us a great deal. Our school corridor is being painted at the moment. Its mainly blue and cream and it looks a lot better now, In school, we have also bought 3 new Apple Mac computers. These are great for doing animation and comic strips. Some of us in Anafon have been using these machines to make a comic strip about our adventures in the rugby tournament.
